Mr. Glenn grew up in Florida and graduated from the University of Florida with a B.A. in Political Science. Go Gators! Prior to teaching, he spent several years living in Wyoming and Idaho, including a season working and backpacking in Yellowstone National Park. The remainder of that time was spent working and playing in the shadows of the Tetons.
He began his teaching career at Norcross High School in 1998. Classes taught by Mr. Glenn have included Philosophy, Law, and Gifted World History. Currently, he teaches AP World History and AP Human Geography. Mr. Glenn also serves as the co-chair for the Social Studies department.
While teaching at Norcross High School, he has earned both his M.A. and Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College and is currently pursuing his Ed.D in Teaching and Learning. It is his honor to have been recognized as a finalist for the Norcross Teacher of the Year in 2007 and 2008, and as Teacher of the Year in 2009. In addition, he is a member of the GCPS Teachers as Leaders class of 2009.
As the IB CAS Coordinator for Norcross High School, it is his responsibility to assist IB Diploma candidates in meeting the aims and objectives of the CAS program. He also serves as the IB Middle Years Program Personal Project Coordinator. In this role, it is his responsibility to support students in achieving their personal goals as they relate to the individual projects. In both capacities, Mr. Glenn is charged with promoting the objectives of IB primarily focusing on the holistic development of the individual including a sense of community on a local, national, and international scale.
My Glenn’s family includes his wife, Suzanne, and two malamutes, Kiska and Koda. He has two nieces, Molly and Riley, and two nephews, Aiden and Finn, all of whom he adores. In his spare time, he enjoys backpacking, hiking, travel, and spending time with family and friends.
